The department conducted a quiz programme for school and college students on 12th July 2013 in support with the old students of mathematics department. 18 teams from different schools and 10 teams from colleges participated in the programme. Holy Ghost Muttuchira secured the first position in the school quiz programme and St.Thomas college Pala team secured the first position in the college quiz programme. Principal Dr.M.N.Radhakrishnan Nair distributed prizes for the winners. Mathematics alumini members distributed the prizes for the participants. HoD Sreekala G gave the vote of thanks.
A general body meeting of the Alumini Association was held on 14th September 2013 and 12th January 2014.
A get together of yester batch (1991-94) was also organized on 14 Feb 2014..Around 24 students and teachers, including the retired teachers, participated in the programme.
R Ambika topped the university by attaining second rank in the M.Sc Mathematics examination. A function was organized by the Alumni to congratulate her on May 2014.
The old students’ association of mathematics department organized a quiz competition for high school students on 15thOctober 2015. 7 teams from different schools participated in the competition. SMSNHS School Vaikom secured the first position. Dr. Jayapal, HoD Physics distributed the prizes to the winners and participants.
Our alumini sri. Prajith (2009-2014 batch) gave a talk on “Mathematics in Competitive examinations” to our first year degree students on 1st March 2016
